Pharmacy Technician
The inventory management pharmacy technician is responsible for all prescription and non-prescription medication and supply purchasing and inventory control.
This responsibility mandates compliance with all VHA and federal regulations regarding contract compliance, purchase card procedures/reconciliation requirements, fund control point regulations, controlled substance purchasing and general inventory control processes.
The incumbent functions in the capacity of a Pharmacy Technician in any area of competency as staffing requirements dictate.
The pharmacy procurement technician position requires basic knowledge of computer keyboarding and familiarity with the use of the medical center computer systems, as well as knowledge of VA policies regarding data security and patient confidentiality.
May function in various areas of the pharmacy.
This position works in conjunction with the Chief, Pharmacy Service or designee.
